The National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum in Stillwater, Oklahoma, is a shrine to America’s sport of wrestling with a focal point of preserving the heritage of the sport. It also supports and celebrates new achievements and encourages the youth of our land to aspire to lofty goals. The museum is located on the campus of Oklahoma State University. The first thing that you will notice when you enter the museum is a life-size marble statue, The Wrestlers, which is an exact copy of the classic statue by Cephisadotus located in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy. This statue was a gift from Calvin Garrett as a memorial to his son Robert, an Oklahoma State University senior who was killed in a motorcycle accident. The museum features an array of sculptures, photographs, banners, plaques, medals, trophies, uniforms and other memorabilia honoring the triumphs of the legends of great athletes, coaches and contributors to man’s oldest sport.
The Wrestling Hall of Fame is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM (weekends by appointment only) - don’t miss your chance to catch a glimpse of the past, present and future of the sport of wrestling in America.
