About 100 miles west of Denver just off Interstate 70, this ski destination, centered between two fabulous ski resorts, Vail and Beaver Creek, symbolizes Colorado skiing at its finest - the snow, the slopes, facilities, amenities, and activities are world-acclaimed, and rightly so. Rated as one of the top ski resorts in North America, Vail offers over 5,000 skiable acres and 193 trails, the longest of which stretches 3 miles in length on a single mountain, the largest single mountain ski area in America. With the extremely vast amount of ski space, you can spend countless hours of your time on some of the greatest slopes in Colorado, enjoying the absolute splendor of the environment that surrounds. Vail has a total uphill lift capacity of 51,000 people per hour, so you’ll be spending more time having fun with the family and friends than sitting in a cramped line. Vail also offers an indoor ice skating facility for the guests that want a change of pace and a cross-country ski center featuring more than 40 backcountry trails. Beaver Creek opened in 1980, and four years prior to opening was considered as a possible Olympic site because of its beautiful mountain and gorgeous surroundings. Beaver Creek has fantastic slopes that attract skiiers from all over and lots of activities, such as cross country skiing, snowshoeing, skate clinics, dog sledding on guided tours, and romantic sleigh rides with dinner. And if you wish, you can ski from village to village, from Beaver Creek to little Bachelor Gulch through acres of aspen glades.
