In 1973, the United States Hockey Hall of Fame, located in Eveleth, Minneapolis, about 3 hours north of Minneapolis, Minnesota, opened its doors to the public with 107 hockey enshrinees, including players, coaches, administrators, player/administrators, and referees, along with entertaining displays and memorabilia. The Hall gives visitors the ability to experience various enthralling game encounters and inspiring achievements. The enshrinees must meet a high degree of excellence, honor, and commitment to be inducted into the, “Wall of Fame“, which is considered Hockey’s highest level of honor and appreciation. From its earliest beginnings, the Hall of Fame covers USA Hockey, the National Hockey League and amateur hockey groups. You will be guided through exciting exhibits featuring the Olympic Display, Gallery of Hockey Art, historical exhibits of hockey memorabilia and the Theater of Hockey Highlights. The Hockey Hall of Fame is closed New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.
