The Stowe Mountain Resort, one of the most respected ski resorts in the East and rated as one of the top 10 by Ski magazine for off-mountain winter activities, is located on Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak at 4,393 feet above sea level. The old world charm of Stowe Village has beckoned guests to the mountain retreat for over 200 years. With an average snowfall of 22 feet, Stowe is typically blanketed in white from mid-November through April. Stowe has a little something for everyone, featuring a perfectly groomed track, smooth wide skating lanes, and some of the finest untracked backcountry skiing anywhere. If you are in the mood for Cross Country Skiing, Stowe has the most diverse interconnected trail system in the United States, with miles of terrain to explore. There are 46 trails for skiers and snowboarders, each of which is more than a mile in length - double that of any other resort in the East, 25 percent is for the advanced skier to try to refine their skiing abilities, 59 percent for the intermediate and 16 percent for the beginner. And for the snowboarders there is a terrain park and two halfpipes.
