Steamboat Springs also is famous for it’s mineral hot springs - in town at the Steamboat Health and Recreation Center, there are hot pools for relaxing and swimming. For a little off-the-slopes fun Steamboat has something going on every month, for example the Annual Steamboat Springs Winter Carnival on the downtown streets with a week-long celebration of winter including downhill and cross country ski races, ski jumping, chariot racing, ice hockey, broomball and culminating in a hilarious and spectacular night show with fireworks and the famous 'Lighted Man'. The 'Cowboy Downhill' is another fun event. Year round activities include hot-air ballooning, horseback riding and much more.
