What is sometimes call the "Space Coast", hosts several baseball teams in Florida's "Grapefruit League" Spring Training: Saint Louis Cardinals and Florida Marlins at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter (near West Palm Beach), New York Mets at Port St. Lucie Sports Complex (Thomas J. White Stadium), Los Angeles Dodgers at Holman Stadium (Dodgertown) in Vero Beach, and Washington Nationals at Space Coast Stadium in Viera (near Melbourne).
Distances are based on the area being centered just north of Fort Pierce, approximately halfway between Jupiter and Viera (about 1 hour each way), on the Atlantic Coast of Florida. Cape Canaveral and the John F. Kennedy Space Center are just beyond the northern end of this area, West Palm Beach just south. Disney World and Orlando attractions are 1 - 2 hours from Port St. Lucie, while Miami Beach is about 2 - 3 hours.
