At the base of Tillamook Head, 17 miles South of the Washington State border, is Seaside, Oregon. Spanning 3 miles near the mouth of Columbia River, this is the official end of the Lewis and Clarke Trail. Beach goers can go surfing, horseback riding, kayaking, paddle boating, fishing, and crabbing.
Along the Oceanfront Promenade are numerous dining and shopping choices, as well as the Seaside Aquarium. Art galleries and museums are located throughout the area, as well as many hiking spots. The annual Seaside Beach Volleyball Tournament in August is a special and popular event.
Seaside is located on Oregon's scenic Pacific Coast approximately 75 miles Northwest of Portland.
