Arizona has more courses per capita than any state west of the Mississippi River, and understandably so - blue, sun-kissed skies and sparse mild breezes make golf weather close to perfection for most of the year. If you golf a different course every day for nearly six months you still wouldn’t conquer all the greens that the Scottsdale-Phoenix metro area has to offer. Unbelievable? Yes. But not nearly as astonishing as the stunning backdrop the Sonoran desert is for many of the courses. Although some courses are private, many allow limited public play and many are public courses.
