Enjoy San Diego for the ultimate Spring Break destination spot with its many sand beaches and plenty of shopping and nightlife available. Spend many lazy days in the sun enjoying some of the best beaches in the world by jumping on a surf or boogie board and heading out into the ocean. One of the most popular beaches, Mission Beach, is an ideal location for a day of roller blading, swimming, playing volleyball, or just people watching at one of the famous bars lining the boulevard. Of course, don’t forget to take a ride on one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the USA at Belmont Park, located at the south end of the beach. Then there’s Pacific Beach, just north of Mission Beach, which is famous for its surfing conditions and where you can have bonfires at night on the beach. Ocean Beach is a popular spot for just about everyone with many streets full of shops to suit everyone’s tastes. Get a wafer ice cream cone and enjoy a walk on the Municipal Pier. You can check out some of the historical spots with a trip to “Old San Diego” which displays historic buildings, shops and restaurants with the architecture of the Old West. The San Diego Zoo is one of the best Zoos in the U.S., and don't forget Sea World where you can actually view and “pet” some of the creatures of the ocean.
While you're there, you might want to take a road trip and venture into Mexico to check out Ensenada and Rosarito Beach, recently named a “Super Hot Spot” for Spring Break by Playboy Magazine. Spend the day horseback riding on the beach, the evening listening to mariachi bands, drinking margaritas and enjoying dinner at the historic Rosarita Beach restaurant. You can also spend the evening dancing and partying at area clubs, like Senor Frogs, Papas and Beer, Sol Café and the Rock & Roll Taco.
