Located just 35 miles North of Hollywood is the town of Santa Clarita, California. What started out as a sleepy little western town is now a popular vacation spot with a variety of attractions including the annual Independence Day celebration. Since 1932, the community has been hosting this event that attracts over 25,000 spectators. The morning of July 4 begins with a pancake breakfast followed by an equestrian event, 5K run-walk, then the big parade. After the parade there is a concert from about 11-2 in Newhall Park, with live bands, food and fun for all ages. At 7:00 PM the festivities begin in Santa Clarita where you can enjoy strolling entertainers, clowns and face painters, more live music followed by the fireworks display after dark.
Additional attractions nearby include Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor, wine country, golf, and the Los Angeles/Hollywood area within an hour.
