Reno, Nevada began as a place to cross the Truckee River. With the combination of the transcontinental railroad and the Comstock Lode mines, it became known as the 'Biggest Little City in the World'. The shores of Lake Tahoe are about an hour away, the historic mining town of Virginia City, NV is 30-40 minutes away.
