The Radio Hall of Fame is headquartered with the Museum of Broadcast Communications, located at the Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago, Illinois. Read about and listen to the best of radio comedy, adventure, and drama; look inside Fibber McGee's closet, or see Charlie McCarthy, Effie Klinker and Mortimer Snerd located in the Hall of Fame Gallery. Listen to the early days of radio in nostalgic decade rooms, like a fireside chat with FDR; or view early radio collectibles like decoder rings and Little Orphan Annie Ovaltine mugs. See the Angel Harvey Radio Center where you can read about legendary ABC radio broadcaster Paul Harvey, his producer-wife Angel and son Paul Harvey Aurandt, creator of "The Rest of the Story". Read about and hear America's Hall of Fame sportscasters including Mel Allen, Harry Caray, and Bob Uecker. A unique interactive exhibit gives visitors the opportunity to put on an anchor jacket, check the script and report the news. Emmerse in memories of old radio shows and personalities, such as Burns and Allen, Amos and Andy, Jack Benny, Red Skelton, Fibber McGee and Molly, Lone Ranger, Gene Autry, Edward R. Murrow, Wolfman Jack, The Shadow, and Mercury Theater which broadcast the infamous "War of the Worlds" by director Orson Wells' in 1938. Before you leave, make sure to visit "The Commercial Break", an on site gift shop. The museum is open daily except for major holidays.
