Recently voted America’s #1 Beach, Poipu on the island of Kauai in the state of Hawaii encompasses a little over 3 miles of coastline. This clean and safe beach is split into 3 sections. The first, Baby Beach, is only inches deep, allowing for toddlers to swim and splash around. The second is an ideal spot for beginner swimmers and body boarders, with gentle waves lapping the shore. The last area is graced with clear water, ideal for snorkeling. In a protected area close to the beach, is a popular resting spot for rare Hawaiian Monk Seal, which you may be able to catch a glimpse of if luck and timing permit.
Shopping, golf, tennis, horseback riding, wind surfing, scuba diving, snorkeling and sailing are activities that can occupy your interests once you have had your fill of the beach. Restaurant Row, aptly named for its numerous dining choices, is also in the vicinity. Additional activities on Kauai include hiking, helicopter rides, colorful Waimea Canyon, golf, and the nearby historic town of Koloa. The nickname for the island of Kauai is 'The Garden Isle' -- enjoy the flowers.
