The Orange Bowl, one of the most colorful annual football spectacles, is part of the BCS (Bowl Championship Series). It is held at Pro Player Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins. The 2010 game on January 5, had Iowa defeating Georgia Tech 24-14.
In 1935 the Orange Bowl was begun in order to bring tourism to South Florida. The tradition has grown into the single largest tourist attraction in South Florida. The game was previously held at the Orange Bowl Stadium and in 1994 moved to the newer Pro Player Stadium north of Miami, Florida. The Orange Bowl has produced 16 national champions, including 7 in the past 14 years - more than any other Bowl.
The Orange Bowl is also known for providing world-class halftime shows featuring some of today's hottest artists in an outstanding light and sound production. To get you prepped for the game, the Ultimate Tailgate Party takes place from Noon to 8:00 PM in the Stadium's NW Bus Parking Lot with music, entertainment, food, and beverages, before the game.
Tickets may be ordered from the respective school's ticket offices.
