Often referred to as "three parks in one," Olympic National Park is still largely pristine in character with about 95 percent of the park designated as wilderness. It encompasses three distinctly different ecosystems; the wild Pacific coast, the lush rainforest, and the rugged, glacier-bedecked high-country. Few places on earth have so much of everything: human and natural history, unusual flora and fauna, utter wilderness and plenty of opportunity for every kind of outdoor recreation.
Main entrance is near Port Angeles, Washington, West of Seattle, however add approximately 2-3 hours travel time around Puget Sound from Seattle area. The park is open year-round, however some roads are closed in Winters.
Activities: Hiking, Mountain Climbing, Horse Trails, Swimming, Boating, Wind Surfing, Water Skiing, River Rafting, Fishing, Bicycle Trails, Cross Country Skiing, Alpine Skiing, and Snow Shoeing.
