The Nashville Zoo is located on a 200-acre site called Grassmere, just 6 miles south of downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Visit the monkeys, gibbons, zebra, ostrich, pelican, otter, cheetah, cougar, leopard, bald eagle, tiger, gila monster, elephant, alligator, tortoise, lizard, kangaroo, anaconda, the lovable meerkat, exotic fish, unique frogs, and others. The Critter Encounters offers hands-on experience with sheep, goats, camels, cows and donkeys. The Historic Farm includes a beautifully restored 1810 home and gardens. The 66,000 sq.ft. playground accommodates over 1,000 kids and includes a huge jungle gym and tree house.
The Nashville Zoo is open daily except New Year's, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Visit the Safari Gift Shop for some souvenirs and the Safari Grill if you're hungry. The zoo is handicapped accessible.
