
Mount Rainier National Park Southeast of the Seattle, Washington area, includes a large designated Wilderness area with old growth forest and subalpine meadows. There are waterfalls, lakes, mountain views, a museum and the 14,410 foot Mount Rainier, an active volcano encased in over 35 square miles of snow and ice.
Located approximately 2 hours Southeast of Seattle, WA. Most roads are open from late May to early October. In the Winters, park access is only by the Nisqually Entrance in the Southwest corner of the park. Activities: Climbing the summit, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing the slopes, photographing wildflowers, hiking, scenic drives, camping along glacier-fed rivers.
