The Little Rock Zoo at 1 Jonesboro Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas opened in 1926 with two animals - a timber wolf and a circus trained bear. Today, the zoo has 33 acres with 600 animals representing 170 species. Some of the animal exhibits include the Great Ape Exhibit with gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans, and monkeys, Big Cat Habitat with lions and tigers, Rhino Exhibit, Lemur Island, plus red panda, giraffe, elephant, and others. When you visit the children's farm the kids get a hands-on learning experience by feeding and grooming domestic animals. They can also see a prairie dog exhibit and farm equipment. For additional variety, hop on the miniature train and take a ride.
