Just North of Lancaster, in Pennsylvania Dutch Country you will find Lititz Springs Park, owned and maintained by the Churches of Lititz, where they hold their annual Fourth of July Celebration. The 2011 celebration begins Friday, July 1 in the evening with a parade and entertainment in Lititz Springs Park. Activities will continue on Saturday, July 2, with live music concerts, games, food, and a traditional Queen of the Candles Pageant followed by a Grand Illumination of over 7,000 candles lighted in pyramids over the creek. And, of course the day is topped off with a night-time high tech fireworks display presented with choreographed music. (Rain date is July 4).
Lititz is also within an half hour of the chocolate town of Hershey and Hershey Park; within an hour of Harrisburg, the capital of Pennsylvania; and within an hour of Reading, a factory outlet shopping town.
