Home to over 1,000 different rare and exotic animals, the Jacksonville Zoo, located at 8605 Zoo Parkway, Jacksonville, Florida, opens a whole new world of adventure and family fun. Having the only walking safari in Northeast Florida, guests are able to experience the action up close, creating a memorable experience for all. There are many different exhibits for everyone to see, like the Birds of the Rift Valley featuring over 70 African birds in a 9,000-foot three-story enclosure. Other interesting exhibits include: Plains of East Africa with giraffes, crocodiles, zebra, antelope, rhinos, monkeys, and elephants in their 275,000 gallon pool; Great Apes of the World where guests can view a variety of different species of primates like apes, chimpanzees, baboons, and gorillas; Range of the Jaquar with jaguars, tamarins, tapirs, river otters, anteaters, reptiles, fish and birds; Butterflies with 50 different native species; Wild Florida featuring black bears, red wolves, bald eagles, bobcats, alligators, otters, Florida panthers, various reptiles, white-tail deer and various wetland owls; Australian Adventure with lorikeets, kangaroos, wallabies and koalas; and the Meerkat Colony with it's adorable meerkats.
The Jacksonville Zoo is open every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas days. You'll also find restaurants, snack bars, and gift shops. Stroller and Wheelchair rentals are available.
