At the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City, Utah, there are over 1,000 animals from all over the world including many endangered species such as the African elephant, lowland gorilla, cheetah and the bornean orangutan, just to name a few. The zoo is built at the base of historic Emigration Canyon with Emigration Creek running right through the zoo. The variety of some of the other animals includes the American bison, polar bear, bighorn sheep, black bear, black-footed ferret, bobcat, Canadian lynx, cougar, squirrels, fox, wolf, sheep, Opossum, lions, monkeys, elephant, giraffe, zebra, meerkat, rhino, gazelle, penquin, kangaroo, many exotic birds, reptiles, and more.
Take a train ride in a scale model of a CP Huntington Steam Locomotive. The food concessions and the Wild Zootique gift shop are owned and operated by the zoo allowing all proceeds to benefit the zoo.
The Hogle Zoo is open every day except Christmas and New Year's Day. Wheelchairs and stroller rentals are available.
