Hotel Reservations near DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT
Dinosaur National Monument is the legacy of rivers, past and present. Here, preserved in the sands of an ancient river, is a time capsule from the world of dinosaurs. The park protects a large deposit of fossil dinosaur bones. In one area Paleontologists have carefully removed away the rock to uncover the bones and leave them in place. More than 1500 fossil bones can now be seen, as well as work in process, in this rare and unusual enclosed exhibit at the Visitor Center. There are also colorful geological formations and scenery in other parts of the park.
The park (open year-round) straddles the border of Northeastern Utah and Northwestern Colorado with the main entrance approximately 12 miles East of Vernal, UT. There are also more remote back country entrances from Colorado.
