The Cleveland Metropark Zoo, at 3900 Wildlife Way in Cleveland, Ohio, is the seventh oldest zoo in the United States and is located on 168 acres along with 2 indoor acres of Tropical Rainforest. Organized into several areas with over 3,300 animals, including the largest collection of primate species in North America, the zoo takes you from the savannahs of Africa and the Australian Outback to the Northern Tundra. In the Rainforest indoor exhibit the climate is the same as in a rain forest, so the 600 animals representing 118 different species and 360 varieties of live flowers, trees and shrubs can survive year-round.
When you need to take a break, there are several food courts and cafes located throughout the zoo as well as gift shops. The Cleveland Metropark Zoo has trams and is handicapped (wheelchair) accessible. The Zoo is open year-round except for Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
