The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden offers something for kids of all ages. The Zoo is situated on 70 acres with indoor and outdoor exhibits and award-winning landscape with a botanical garden and 2,800 varieties of plants, trees and annuals including a special display of Japanese Bonsai.
Outdoor animal exhibits include the red panda, gorilla world, white lions, rhino reserve, bears, cat grottos and monkey island, to name a few. Indoor exhibits include the cat house, insect world, komodo dragon, nocturnal house and manatee springs. There's a passenger pigeon memorial, elephant house, and historic landmarks such as buildings from 1875 and 1906 that are now home to reptiles. The children's zoo features cousins of barnyard animals like a pygmy goat, pot-bellied pigs and zebu cattle. Other children’s exhibits include a zoo nursery, zoolab and children’s theater.
There are several gift shops located throughout the Cincinnati Zoo offering a variety of items to bring a little of the zoo home with you. The Safari Restaurant located at the main entrance is open year round and there are also picnic grounds and shelters available. In addition, there's a zoo train and a tram. The zoo is handicapped accessible with wheelchair and stroller rentals available. The zoo, located at 3400 Vine Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, is closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Days.
