Nearly 2,000 contestants compete for almost $1 million in prize money (the largest in regular season professional rodeo) at Cheyenne Frontier Days at Frontier Park in Cheyenne, Wyoming, normally during the 4th weekend through the last weekend of July (July 18 – 27 for 2008). Known as the "Daddy of 'em All", Cheyenne Frontier Days has been around for well over 100 years and is a leader in rodeo action. It's a favorite rodeo for PRCA competitors and rodeo fans - Cheyenne's champions proudly display their winning belt buckles as status symbols throughout the rodeo circuit. Cheyenne Frontier Days' Rodeo is famous for its fast pace and large number of contestants - visitors can see more rodeo action in one day with over 40 bucking bulls and over 70 saddle and bareback broncs in each performance - than at any other rodeo. There's steer wrestling, steer roping, saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, rookie bronc riding, steer roping, bull riding, calf roping, wild horse race, team roping, barrel racing, and the ever exciting chuckwagon races.
Cheyenne Frontier Days is also packed with nighttime entertainment from some of the biggest names in country, as well as other, musical entertainment which will be announced closer to the event dates.
