Today, Cheyenne is the capital of the state of Wyoming, the country's leading energy supplier. Ranching and farming is still a big industry. Cheyenne is world famous for its annual Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration, 'the Daddy of em All', in mid to late July consisting of the world's largest outdoor rodeo along with country and western, as well as contempary entertainment, parades and pancake feeds. Located at the intersection of Interstates 25 and 80, Cheyenne anchors the Northern portion of the Rocky Mountain's Front Range. I-80 serves as a major East/West thorough-fare for trucking and for tourists on their way to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons.

Activities: See the State Capital, State Museum, Wyoming Transportation Museum, 'Big Boy' Steam Engine (the world's largest), Botanical Gardens, old railroad depot. Experience the Wild West with the Cheyenne Gunslingers re-enacting a shoot-out (Summers only), Terry Bison Ranch with cookouts and wagon rides on a buffalo ranch (about 10 miles South via I-25 on the Colorado border), Curt Gowdy State Park (about 1 1/2 hours East via Happy Jack Road).
