The Celtic Classic plays tribute to professional highland athletes from around the world who compete in such events as the sheaf toss, hammer throw, Braemar stone throw, the caber toss, and others. The Celtic Classic invites the public to enjoy the many ethnic foods, crafts, and demonstrations located throughout the festival grounds. Bagpipes? - you bet - the opening ceremony, parade, mass bands, and invitational bag pipe band competition will certainly satisfy your desire for these. In addition, there is a wide variety of music, from traditional to Celtic rock and roll. There are around 30 hours of continuous performances over several venues, for everyone's musical taste. Whisky tasting, beer, wine, and food are all available. Also, Border Collie exhibitions, Highland Dance competitions, Irish Step dancing, children's crafts, and much, much more - this could really be a cultural weekend to remember.
