Branson, Missouri has been dubbed the "Live Entertainment Capital of the World" with many entertainment venues and a variety of music, events, and activities year-round in the midst of the Ozark Mountains. The annual Branson Fest begins the new season with 5 days of music, food, fun, and arts. This event is the community's biggest bash of the year and is normally held in April (April 8 - April 12 for 2008).
Branson music includes country, pop, swing, rock n' roll, classical, patriotic and gospel, performed by world-class entertainers. There are also hilarious comedy acts, breathtaking dance shows, and mystifying magic. With 45 theatres you can see colorful costumes, spectacular lighting, and first class staging. Branson has more theater seats than New York's Broadway theater district and even Las Vegas. There are morning and afternoon shows that are just as spectacular as the evening shows. In addition, Branson offers many other activities; such as, museums; Stone Hill Winery tours; show boats, fishing, & water activities on Table Rock Lake; golf & mini-golf; go karts; water park; and the famous Silver Dollar City theme park nearby.
The Branson Fest presents 5 days of music and activities, autograph sessions, contests, free stuff, arts and crafts, and food. There is free entertainment under the "Real American Entertainment" tent and "Streetmosphere" entertainment outside the tent and expo areas. The Welk Resort Theatre presents several shows every afternoon - these do require tickets which may be purchased on location or in advance by calling 877-588-1957.
